PeptidePay Whitepaper

Version 1.0 — May 2026

Abstract

PeptidePay is a decentralized science (DeSci) platform built on the Solana blockchain that incentivizes the creation, peer review, and dissemination of peptide research. By combining on-chain token rewards with a community-driven validation system, PeptidePay aims to accelerate biotech discovery and make scientific publishing more transparent, accessible, and financially rewarding for researchers worldwide.

1. The Problem

Traditional academic publishing is slow, expensive, and gatekept. Researchers wait months for peer review, pay thousands in publication fees, and receive no direct financial compensation for their work. Meanwhile, valuable peptide research — with applications in antimicrobials, neuroscience, oncology, and metabolic disease — remains locked behind paywalls or buried in institutional repositories.

The result is a fragmented, inefficient knowledge ecosystem that slows down scientific progress and concentrates value in the hands of publishers rather than the researchers who create it.

2. The Solution

PeptidePay replaces the traditional publishing model with a permissionless, on-chain incentive system. Any researcher with a Solana wallet can submit findings directly to the platform. Submissions are reviewed by the community, and approved research earns the author $PEPTIDEPAY tokens — the platform's native reward token.

  • No publication fees
  • No gatekeepers
  • Direct financial rewards for researchers
  • Community-driven quality control
  • Permanent, transparent record on-chain

3. $PEPTIDEPAY Token

$PEPTIDEPAY is a Solana SPL token that serves as the reward and governance currency of the PeptidePay ecosystem.

4. Research Categories

PeptidePay focuses exclusively on peptide science, organized into five research categories:

Antimicrobial

Peptides that combat bacterial, fungal, and viral infections — critical in the fight against drug-resistant pathogens.

Neuropeptides

Signaling molecules in the nervous system with applications in neurological and psychiatric disorders.

Signal Peptides

Short sequences that direct protein trafficking and secretion, key to recombinant protein production.

Hormonal

Peptide hormones regulating metabolism, growth, reproduction, and homeostasis.

Synthetic

Engineered peptides designed for therapeutic, diagnostic, or material science applications.

5. AI-Assisted Research

PeptidePay integrates Peptide Pay AI — a specialized AI model trained to generate scientifically rigorous peptide research papers. Users describe a topic and the AI produces a complete paper with introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion sections. AI-generated research is published directly to the feed and earns the same daily $PEPTIDEPAY reward as manually submitted work.
